BERLIN INSANE

Berlin Insane is not only a name that sets trends, but also the biggest indoor-festival of the german underground. Parallel to the festival, each year a compilation is released with the acting artists. The success of Berlin Insane lays in the secret ingredient authenticity, wide-spectrum and strength of expression. Berlin Insane is neither an Electro-, nor a Rock- or an Artfestival, but more likely all of them together and much, much more. Aside from the Berlin-Event, Berlin Insane will go on tour each year in selected Clubs in whole Europe.

THE RELEASES:

Pale 002 - Berlin Insane
Berlin Insane: the night, the party, the complilation. The head of the Berlin based label Pale Music, Steve Morell, presents Berlin Insane: a platform for the old and new avant-garde of Berlin, building a commpilation of the underground superlative. Included are artists like Alexander Hacke (Einstürzende Neubauten) and Kid Congo Powers (The Cramps) with their most current material, and the Pale Music acts Glamour To Kill, Nouvelle Vouge, Namosh and Mignon. Their sounds span everything from electronic glam rock, new wave sounds to blood-spitting performers. And if this mix isn’t enough to put the afficianados into 7th heaven, Pale Music also offers names like Feedom (the Canadian underground elite: Peaches, Gonzales, and Taylor Savvy), Electrocute, and Boy From Brazil. A well-rounded package full of Berlin "Insanity", Berlin Insane is a Hommage to the true Berlin backyard sounds and the proven veteran artists of the capital. Everyone: Berliners, hipsters, scene sluts, and wannabees – you gotta have this CD!

Pale 006 - Berlin Insane II
Berlin Insane, the second compilation of the Berlin label and artistpool Pale Music, again keeps up with what its name promises us… Pure “insanity” and everything fresh and new as well as old and stylish coming its way in the Berlin underground. Like last year Berlin Insane represents freaky performers and relentlessly draws the crowd onto the dancefloors of this city with pulsating electrobeats. Besides that Steve Morell, head of Pale Music and initiator of Berlin Insane, calls everything he considers “insane” enough to make its way on the compilation being one of its own.

Pale 011 - Berlin Insane III
3 years now without any sleep and still „insane“...but it’s just starting now: With their third edition of the successful compilation the Berlin based label Pale Msuic makes the next daring step onto the stages and dancefloors of this world. Compiled by The Scandals (Emma Eclectic & Steve Morell- heads of Pale Music) the „Berlin Insane“ event is going on tour this year. The double cd compilation brings together names from Berlin and London Underground, Glampop icons back from the 80th like Marc Almond, artists and friends like Whitey, Noblesse Oblige and Crossover and other electro rock- shocking performers...we call it insane!

Pale 018 - Berlin Insane IV
Pale Music International returns with their flagship release, Berlin Insane, now in it’s fourth year and better than ever. As a musical snapshot of one of the most vibrant and creative cities in the world, the annual Insane compilations are as much historical document as they are musical entertainment. From the experimental BI-I to the electro-clash of BI-II through the more electro-oriented focus of BI-III, the compilations have always provided a close-up view of the diversity and changing styles of Berlin and supported and showcased the artists living, working and playing here. With Pale Music’s The Scandals at the helm of the project for the second year, Berlin Insane IV is a much more eclectic mix than before, which is reflective of the range and diversity of the artists working here. From the aural percussion assault of N. U. Unruh to the whimisical, operatic Planningtorock, via the retro pop-punk of Pink Grease through to dance-floor disco courtesy of The Scandals round back of the melancholy acoustics of Christian Meyer to the techno-electro of Ascii Disko via the aggressive punk rock of Crack Whore Society and the mechanical electro of Peaches vs. Gibby Haynes, taking a detour with the electro-pop of Punx Soundcheck feat. Gene Serene before finally settling with the laid-back neu-reggae of Jammin’ Unit feat. Yaneq. Berlin Insane IV once again proves to be the only compilation series available which gives an accurate view of who are the mainstays and the new faces of the Berlin music scene.
